UPDATED: 27 February, 2011 ----- Check back often as this is a work in progress. Welcome to my genealogy website. My name is Jane Marie Hopson McClure.
As my Aunt Gussie said, "There’s one in every family," and in this family I’m the one—the one who has made a life work of researching, collecting, and preserving the family history. I’ve been at it for 40 years, starting when my grandparents and their siblings were alive, so I was able to get much of my information first hand and build on it. Since I discovered the Internet, the quantity of information has grown tremendously. I have my entire database (not including living people) posted on Rootsweb, also available on Ancestry.com, and I continue to update it as I find new information. Many families who are related to our families through marriage are included in that database. This has always been a labor of love and my only intention has always been to share the information with anyone who is interested now or will be interested in the future even if right now they couldn’t care less. I have also tried to include more than just names and dates whenever possible. This is and will continue to be a WORK IN PROGRESS, as long as my eyes, my fingers, my computer, and my mind continue to function. This is a compilation of the research of numerous people, and I have carefully documented all sources. However, I can’t vouch for the accuracy of material passed on to me by other researchers. I present it here for what it’s worth as a guide to further research. I encourage everyone to talk to their older relatives while they have the chance, and to write their own autobiographies and family histories. Future generations will thank you. This website would not have been possible without the computer expertise and infinite patience of my husband Mac McClure. Thanks, dear. P.S. My other hobby is quilting.
